This is one of my favorite horror films from the 60s that is very reminiscent of B horror films, but visually very artistic and with a good plot, it is somewhat similar to John Carpenter's The Fog.
The movie was included in a box set of The Criterion Collection called "Eclipse Series #37: When Horror Came to Shochiku" and was also released together with Konchu daisenko (War of the Insects).
